Junior Programs 2022

Spring: Dates To Be Announced

The Capilano junior tennis program is a game based tennis program designed for new players age 7 – 18 who want to learn tennis or for players who can already play the game and want to improve their skills.

In compliance with Tennis BC Covid Protocols, there will be 8 people in each group.

The Capilano Tennis Club will be providing this program through the weeks of APRIL and JUNE  2021. Classes are one hour in length and feature Tennis Canada approved coaches and the Progressive Tennis Approach which facilitates faster learning and development. The Coach/Student ratio is a maximum of 1 to 8. The program is one hour per week for 8 weeks total.

Classes start in May, ending the last week of June.

The cost  is $150 for the eight week program.

Summer: Dates To Be Announced

We are also providing summer tennis camps during JULY 2022. These are weekly camps Monday through Thursday.

Registration for the 2021 programs will take place beforehand at the clubhouse, 2500 Capilano Rd., North Vancouver.

Capilano Tennis Club is a well established North Vancouver facility, featuring a 2 storey clubhouse with a fully equipped kitchen, dining and sitting area, big screen TV, washrooms, showers, 2 viewing decks,  a ping pong table and pool table downstairs.

Our 4 courts have been newly surfaced in 2018 and are without doubt,  the best on the North Shore.

Capilano Tennis Club also features many social events throughout the year as well as social play on weekends accompanied by Saturday Afternoon Tea for those who attend.

Although we are a small club and operate as a “Not for Profit Society”, our membership is diverse and features all ages and all levels of play. 

We will have 7 city league teams in 2022 with our Ladies Division 3 team having moved having won the  Provincial League Finals in 2018.

Meet the Coach

Howie Jackson is a Tennis Canada certified career coach with 30 years of coaching history in Vancouver.  He has been the Head Tennis Professional at the Capilano Tennis Club since 1986.

With over 50,000 hours of on-court experience, he coaches all ages and ability levels, from novices to national champions.  Howie provides a comprehensive approach to player development, blending technical efficiency, tactical proficiency and psychological awareness to create a complete tennis player.

Howie was ranked in the top 10 in the Open category in BC in singles and doubles.  Howie’s practical, results-based coaching emphasizes subtle modification and enhances immediate improvement.  Howie is always available to discuss your game and its future.

Our Location

Capilano Tennis Club is located on the east side of  Capilano Road, just north of the freeway overpass. 

Ample parking is available for both club members and visitors.
