CTC Board Planning Meeting

Purpose of the meeting is 2 fold:

1 – To identify and document a Calendar of Major Events for the winter and upcoming 2019 season

2 – Identify ideas and suggestions to increase membership levels while retaining existing membership

 

Planned calendar events:

1) Thurs Nov 1, 2018 – Women’s Inter Club league teams to be registered with Tennis BC.  – Angie

2) Wed Nov 7, 2018 – AGM Meeting. 6:30 sign-in, 7:00 start.  – Jeff

3) Wed Dec 19, 2018 – Carol Sing Event   – NF

4) Thur Jan 10, 2019 – check-in with Mens’ Inter Club League team captains re: teams’ roster. – Angie

5) Tue Jan 15, 2019 – Second CTC Board Planning Meeting

6) Fri Jan 25, 2019 – “Robbie Burns Night”? Scotch tasting? NF & Alex

7) Sat Apr 27, 2019 – “CTC Opening Day”

8) Mon Apr 29, 2019 (to June 23, 2019) – Junior Spring Program

9) Sat May 11, 2019 – “Calcutta Tournament”

10) In-House Leagues start:  June 17, 2019 – Mens’ 3.5-4.0;  June 18, 2019 – Women’s 3.5-4.0; June 19, 2019 – Women’s 3.0

11) Summer Kids’ Camps (4 weekly sessions): July 8 –11, July 15 –18, July 22 – 25, July 29 – Aug 1.

12) Thur July 11, 2019 – MxD’s 3.5-4.0 Drop-in Nights start

13) July 6 – Aug 31, 2019 – Howie’s Sat. drills

14) July 14, 2019 – Wimbledon Breakfast at CTC

15) Aug 17 – 24, 2019 – “CTC Club Tournament”

16) Sept 14, 2019 – “Pot Luck Tournament & Dinner”

 

 

Membership initiatives/retention discussion ideas:

 

Signage:                                                                                                         – Install additional white large signage on trees – (Feb 1st) – Howie, George     – Change smaller sign at the front to indicate yearly fees                                      – Signage on the roof to allow highway exposure

– Put hard copies of membership application forms by the front door in dropbox shelf

– Offer new members no initiation fee (for one year, or for the first 15 to join)

– Offer members an incentive to bring in new members

– At AGM get members’ input on various approaches  – a) reduce or stop initiation fee for a particular time period, b) give incentives for bringing in new members

– Construct one or two pickleball courts behind the clubhouse

– Create a committee to research the feasibility of CTC offering members a “Bubble” for winter play season.
